Welcome Bags for Out of Town Guests

One of the new trends we are absolutely loving for wedding planning is to have welcome bags for your out of town guests. Although brides and grooms hope to welcome every guest who traveled to be with them, it may not always be possible. Instead, a nice way to say hello to out of town guests is to have a special gift for them upon their arrival: a welcome bag!

What do you put in a welcome bag?

Welcome bags are as unique as each couple getting married. They are a great way to bring your personality to your guests over your special weekend. To start off, it’s helpful to pick a fun and versatile tote to carry the items in. Many couples like to find playful tote bags or a cute basket to start. Inside, the possibilities are endless! You can coordinate your bag or basket around your wedding day colors. Whatever makes you excited will make your guests feel excited too!

Welcome Bag Inspiration

Not sure what to fill your bag with? That’s the fun part! One idea is to bring the city you’re in to life. For example, the bags pictured are all about Fairhope, Alabama! Local food and drinks are always a great idea! For instance, you could partner with a local baker to make specialized cookies. Or add locally made snacks and drinks! Other options might include items to help with your wedding day. Beach wedding? Provide a pair of flip flops or sunscreen. Maybe a small wrap for a winter wedding. You get the idea! Above all, have fun with your welcome bags. They’re going to add something joyful to your wedding experience!

Just remember, whatever you wind up choosing, these welcome bags are a fun way to say hello! You can work with the hotels your guests are staying in to deliver them. Another option is to have them available at a centralized location – maybe a welcome brunch or cocktail party. No matter what, your guests will love them and the extra chance to celebrate and remember your day!
